I just was using my Aqueon WC on my 10,20,60. Anways my 10 is last so I put it and I check the temp, 69! Will they be ok? Normal temp is 81ish. They are DG, Harlequin rasboras, corys. What can I do?
If the fish are acting ok. Would let ur heater slowly bring up the heat. If u take out some water and add warmer water it could stress the fish as the temp in rising uncontrollably.
Just my suggestion. It depends on ur fish. Most tropical fish can tolerate a low of 70 so ur not too far away.

Hello; It is the rate of temp change that is the danger. Temp changes too sudden can do harm. My fish, some the same as yours, have had temps in the high 50's F during power outs and temps in the low 90's during a summer heat wave. They survived because the change took place over a long time.
Tropical lentic species (river fish, such as the ones you have) will usually tolerate a rapid change in temperature on the cold side much more readily than a rapid change in temperature on the warm side. This is an adaptation to deal with flood waters, which are often (but not always) colder than base-flow in the tropics. Raising the temperature slowly is sage advice, especially for small fish such as those in question. Use the situation to your advantage... your fish might be induced to spawn by this accident.
