Video below showing EMF radiation levels coming off my aquarium pumps - fluval fx5, external and submerged sump return pumps and vortech, jebao, hydor air pumps. EMF can cause cancer, tumors, leukemia, endocrine disruption, fertility problems, etc. It's probably a good idea to not place an aquarium directly next to where you sit or sleep and step a few feet back from your aquarium to view your fish. Levels 3-4 milligauss can cause biochemical disruption to humans. All pumps, no matter how small, are putting out 50-100+ milligauss. When you take a few steps back from the aquarium the radiation drops down to safer levels.

Good information, thanks for posting :)
Now, MFK members that having a fish tank next to their bed...think about it and move it out of your room :P hehehe JOKE!

And just as I'm setting up a new 75 next to my bed. Nah it's still going right next to my bed

If you suddenly develop chronic headaches, depression or become impotent you may want to move your tank a few feet away from the bed :))

Think about all the wifi signal blasting you everywhere you go.

Right up against my wifi box it reads 20 milligauss but thankfully it drops off to zero at less than 3 feet away.

My cell phone is a constant 2-10 milligauss, higher when I'm using it or when it's plugged in. I'm not getting rid of my toys but I'm being more cautious now. I used to sleep with my cell under my pillow now I turn off my cell at night or set it several feet away.

Interesting... Sadly i live in Asia where space comes at a premium... So gotta live with all my toys reasonably near... I do have to admit that it would be interesting to get myself one of those meters and walk around the place measuring radiation levels...

I've never seen Gauss as a unit before. I had to look up what Gauss measured. Well, it measures magnetic field strength. Not EM radiation.
With that being said, anything with a magnet inside it will cause the needle to spike. A lot of electronics will make the needle move too. But that's why the filter and pumps cause the spike.

10000 Gauss is 1 Tesla. An MRI exposes you to 1-3 Tesla.
The magnetic field from the equipment connected to the tank (.00000001 Tesla) is nothing to worry about. It'll produce some extra heat in the area. But not dangerous radiation.

I'm not scanning through 70 pages but the aquarium equipment isn't producing any harmful radiation.
Milligauss is measuring magnetic field not em radiation.

Just saying, you don't have anything to worry about. Unless the equipment catches fire. Then you have a problem lol.
