EMP 400 what media?

I have an Emperor 400 and it came with those 2 grey media cartridges. What do you guys put there if anything? I have never used the,m, just the original filter pads. Thanks.

i just cut four polyfilter pads to fit the slots.

Just this morning, I put established Fuval ceramic pelets in one (both sides) to help seed BB in a new 55g tank.

After that my buddy will likely use them for replacable floss rather than paying for filter cartrages.
