Emperor 400 as bio filtration?

I ordered 2 xp 3's for my 120 gallon and i was wondering im i should use the existing emperor 400 for biological filtration? Like fill it with pot scrubbies or substrat pro or something of that nature?

With 2 XP3s running the additional bio is really not needed. You'd be better of setting it up as an additional mech filter.

Bio filtration, yes. Mechanical filtration you may find the XP3s to be lacking in that department.

well over filtering is never a bad thing. what are you putting in the media trays?

Tons of filter material for mechanical filtration and some bio i guess.

you could do all mech on the xp3's and mostly bio and some mech on the 400. i think that would work out well but that's just me
