Which would you choose as a hang on back filter?

My petsmart has the penguin 350 at $40, the emperor at $60, and aquaclear at $90....

Im not sure if the extra $20 from the 350 to the 400 is worth it, and what about the aquaclear?

This is going to be going on a 30-40 gallon in the future, but for now it will go on a 75 alongside an fx3..

I have also read that petsmart does price matches... anyone know where i can get a ac110 cheap that i could show them? Thanks alot!

On-line purchases may still be the better price option because you can usually get free shipping and many times no sale tax.

My choice would probably be the ac110; it just seems more versatile when it comes to filter media and ease of use and cleaning.

Do you think an AC 70 would be enough for a 40 gallon?

I will probably have very little fish in it and be understocked

i have the emperor 400 alongside an overflow that was built into my aquarium. it works great, but i had to cit a bit off the intake tube.

I'm an emp 400 fan (currently using 4)
I set them up with the cartridge, then seachem matrix in th grey things and then the biowheel (love the biowheel)

I do have one ac110, nothing against it, other than it takes a long time to prime compared to the emps. I hate the other AC options like AC70 since they break very easily (IMO-had 4 brand new ones break in about 6 months) The AC 300 (now called AC70) was much stronger than the AC70s now since the AC 300 is still running at a friend's place.

ALL in all, I love the emps. I also like rena canisters on a side note.

Don't bother with the penguins. If you want a biowheel get the emperor as it has the spray bars. The AC110 can hold the most media.

Well I was able to get the penguin 350 for 25.99 with a pricematch from PETsMART I'll probably upgrade once I get my tank!
