Ive had no experience with the ac110 but i hear it is really effective. is it better than the emp 400?

ya.. For one.. ac110 parts are easy to find.. and they REALLY pull water.. you can really see gunk from waste in the sponge.. Also AC110 is much more reliable than emperor 400 in terms of the bio-filtration,.. theres enough room in the box to customize your own media.. In addition, they also create great water current in your tank..

But if you prefer fashion over function, and want a useless spinning wheel to look at, definitely go with the emperor. The AC110 doesn't offer anything pretty to look at.

Don't know about the emperor, but I have a AC110 on my 120 with my mbu + a rena xp3, and the AC110 is really quiet. Works quite well, and very easy to set-up, and get going again after a cleaning. Definitely a good purchase.
