Emperor SO loud with new impeller

OMGosh it's horrible, and it is sitting correctly. I've re-set it over & over, it won't improve.
I waited a long time to replace the impeller. could it have worn off inside the housing unit or what?
I couldn't find a whole housing assembly unit for sale online anymore. will I have to replace the whole filter? it's about to make us all crazy in the living room, it's so obnoxious.

keep trying. it only takes a small bit sometimes. my new one rattled for 2 weeks+ before building up enough bio slime to quiet it down. now it's usually silent, but not always. sometimes lt quiets down on it's own, sometimes I need to lift up or press down to quiet it down.
 
the filter itself is old, & I left slime inside :-/
wondering if running plastic-on-plastic impeller could've worn things down, & made it off balance.
I'm about ready to move the tank in a back room, it's 'that' loud. husband feels like he's watching tv in a factory. Lol
 
like I said, fiddle with it. not reseating, just little adjustments up, down, and side to side. I had a whisper 4 that was that bad. putting a 2 pound rock on the top was the only way to quiet that one down.
 
I've had the inside housing wear away, check inside with a flashlight. When I let the wobble go too long it actually wore a figure 8 into the housing, making the pump unusable.

You can also check the volute, it may have chipped, causing the impeller to wobble , thus cavitation, and noise.

ok, thanks guys. I tilted the whole filter position 'up' in back, by wedging something between it and the tank. gravity and current flow is pulling the impeller toward the tank, and the rattling noise greatly reduced.
gotta love current-fed gravity. Lol.
now we can handle waiting for a new one

sometimes it just takes a few days(maybe acouple weeks )for it to quiet down ...if not get an aqueon 75 ...the impeller is down in the water:popcorn:
