Not a monster fish per se but they live in 125g tank, so I figure it counts :)

Any owners of emperor tetras out there? Mine are doing well, breeding (I have multiple generations living in the community tank) and eating, but every so often they get a parasite infestation. No other fish in the tank get it, just the emperors. The parasites are actually visible, as if they're just inside the fish's skin - a white squiggly worm. Pretty gross. Also occasionally visible in the fins. If stretched out the worm might be 2 cms long.

I manage it using Jungle Labs Parasite food, but it obviously doesn't work all that well since it eventually returns. The other day I had to destroy a juvenile male as he was completely bloated with them (I tried to isolate and treat him but he looked too far gone, like his belly was going to explode).

Any help?

Pictures of your lovely tank?
And i want to see those parasite thingys! ;)

Here's the tank (pic's about a month old)... will try to snap a shot of the parasites next time they rear their ugly little heads!

that is one of the nicest tanks iv ever seen!
well done man :)

Which species of emperors? Nematobrycon palmeri or Inpaichthys kerri?

is that really your tank? awesome!!!

Okay, try to coat the food with piperazine and feed the fish with it for 10 days.

Well i wouldn't mind the parasite in exchange for that view:grinno:I'll just replace every fish everytime it dies:swear::hitting:
