I just picked up a 65 setup (36x18wx24t), just waiting on some new frames to come in the mail so i can redo the tank. I got a cycled fx5 running on a temporary tank. I was thinking of a fahaka growout bc i miss having a monster in the house. I had to sell my 280 to make room for a dining room, got a baby on the way so im losing the spare bedroom so all i have now is a 120 with some mollies, tetras, clown loaches and my monster 5" brown hoplo. I planned to grow out a fahaka in the 65 then swap the small fish to the 65 and give the puffer the 120.

Been on here looking at gulper cats, bichirs and asellus puffers bc of their ability to be in schools. Not made up my mind yet

I would definitely recommend the Bichirs. I've had a Senegal for a few months now and love to watch it hunt around the tank for food. Am planning on getting at least two more as soon as I get my grow out tank set up. He's getting along just fine with my brown knife, ompock catfish, tiger barbs and a clown loach.

Got any pics of your set-up and stock?

Depending in the dimensions of your 120, it might just be big enough to house a fahaka long term as long as its flying solo...

i had my fahaka in a 120 4 x 2. I ended up giving her away to a bigger tank bc I thought the 120 was still way too small.

^ yeah, i mean from a personal standpoint i would say at least a 180G and up would be best, but people say a 125G is normally the bare minimum...

Its a 4x2 but i have room and exrra equipment for a 180, i see them all the time on CL. My wife hates the cats and bichirs and after reading more on the sap, i dont have a steady supply of snails. I think ill start setting up for a fahaka.
