These are my new turtles they will go in with the monsters when they get some size on . i have UVA 5.0 tube IR basking lights a well cycled 50 gal with turtle doc some various plants they are eating squashed baby crickets and live black worm as well as biting off bits of plants, the water temp is 26 oC. any advice on how to get them to grow well would be much appreciated as they are my first turtles.
The hexagonal coin in the foreground is an au 50 cent about 1" across.

thanks i have done alot of research they are eating well i see what you mean the trick is not to give into them .
One side of the room i have the forever hungry oscars the other side i have forever hungry turtles.
They are very active and have lost their loose bits of skin that they had when i got them
What should i put in the water to help with the carbonate hardness as i heard this helps them grow a healthy shell.
 
I've used crushed coral in my filter but shellgrit also works. I also use a little salt (1-2 tsp per 20L) to harden the water a little to decrease the risk of infections especially fungal in the early stages of the turtles life. My tapwater is quite soft so you might not have to do this.
