I don't know where Colombo is but if warm enough you could house him/her outdoors in a rubber maid bin with chicken wire over top and cable ties to make it predator proof.

They LOVE real sun. Grow like weeds with it.

BTW nice slider

good luck, those guys are a handful. where i live alot of people get them cuz they are cute and then when they get to big or to much work, they release them into our creeks , they never were native here, but now they live here. but if you are willing to give them the space and proper filtration you will have no problems, good luck

I'm impressed they've been able to establish themselves up there, that surprises me.

They do need a large aquarium...my slider (a YBS) is nearly 9" long and he's a male; females get much larger.

yah they some how survive the minus 40 degree winters we have, but they are destroying our ecosystem, they are eating all the plants and alot of fish in the creeks around here. there is now a bylaw that were not aloud to sell these guys in saskatchewan any more. but theres only one LFS in regina that still does sell them. its frustrating when people buy these turtles with out any realization that yes it will out grow your 10G tank., (i work in a petstore so i see alot of scary things) every day from uninformed customers.
