Australia
my endi laid about 300 eggs all over her tank yesterday
(whilst I was at work :irked:)
they are about as round as a match head.

so I have some Q's

can I borrow a male endi to fertilize them? there may be a local male endi owner willing to stud out his male :)

if so how long would the eggs be viable? or should I remove them now?

is there a cycle of egg production so I could time the introduction of a male for their possible mating, and is there any danger in doing this?

interestingly I had moved my endi from a big 6ft by 30" wide tank to a smaller 4 x 18 x 18 and the cooler autumn weather here in Australia made the tank temp from 27C to 25C

my endi diet is a normal 1 or 2 hardy heads per day and the odd pellet
occasional live food and frozen turtle food (for calcium)

please any advice welcome thanks

A) No reason why you couldn't.

A)the female needs to be gravid its something you'll need to watch for

A) changes in temp.and water chemistry seem to trigger breeding

frozen turtle food? well if it eats it it eats it lol

I just finished a waterchange and cleanup,
the eggs were mouldy and of course no good anyhow.
I forgot to mention there were 12 julidichromis transcriptus before I put the endi in
there are only 4 left ;)

thanks for your info beblondie

Any luck finding a male? :)
