I've posted three threads regarding my 12" endli that stopped eating about 3-4 weeks ago. I waited and waited and did wc's and made sure water quality was good. The fish showed no signs of illness. Well yesterday I came home to find my endli dead
. I suspected that my fish ingested some gravel and thus could not eat. I did an autopsy to see if I could find some gravel in my fish's gut. Sure enough there was a sharp edged piece of gravel about 3mm in diameter toward the back end of the digestive tract. The hard lesson learned here and a warning to all who read this and have gravel in their bichir tanks is gravel kills bichirs
. I'm changing my gravel to sand this weekend so my other two endlis don't suffer the same fate. Best of luck to all.
