Endli burying head?

I noticed my new Endli likes to bury it's head a little:




Is there any reason for this ? My other poly's never do it

I have read about other Peoples Endlis doing the same. Mine has done it before as well.

Mine do that when there hungrey/hunting I think its so there prey cant see them.

Mine does it as well. Their eyes seem to be better built for it compared to most bichirs - higher on the head like little goggles. It is normal behavior.

mine does as well.

Mine does this also when he settles into his favorite spot. Which happens to be directly over one of my under sand jets, guess he likes the rush on his fins.

They'll bury themselves almost completely (at least when they're small) if they have deep enough sand, or a hill to plow through.
