I picked up my first poly about 3 weeks ago, a little Endli. Everything is going well he is eat good and getting along with the other fish in his 10gal qt tank. The problem i have is about a week and a half ago i noticed that he wouldnt straighten out all the way. He didnt do this when i bought him and i dont know if i should be concerned or not of if i can even do anything about it. The first pic is from the side and you can see just behind the head a slight bulge and then an indentation. Its exactlly opposite on the other side like hes tensing up all the time. The second pic is more of a top view (sorry for the blurr he was being difficult) and you can see the s shape that he constantly in. Anyone have any opinions on causes or what i should do about it would be appreciated. Thanks Rob

Sounds like a spinal problem wich he may have gotten from bumping into something, maybe he got spooked by a tankmate or perhaps a other pet (cat) or housemate. I will wait for the pics but in general there's not much that can be done. If he eats and swims good he will live though.

I fully agree. There was a forumer in another forum that had a bichir with a spinal problem maybe due to the same example gien above. His bichir lost its appetite but was still eating but it eventually died.

Well i just moved him out of qt tank into 29gal. He is still eating well and is fairly active, as active as a poly can be anyway. I really hope he pulls through i would hate to lose him. Thanks for the input.
