is there any way to tell endli endli apart from endli congus when they are young (under 6'') just wondering because my lfs always has the stock sheet with just endli on the name. didnt know if there would be any luck one might come in as a congus and if you could tell them apart.

Not likely to "get in" 6" Congicus.

Most of the time, they are endlicheri endlicheri. You can tell by the headshape, thickness of the stripes and where the stripes stop (i.e. congicus has stripes that stop 1/4 before the belly whereas endlicheri endlicheri has stripes that stretch to the belly most of the time).

Not likely to "get in" 6" Congicus.
May I know why not?

Not a commonly bred Bichir. And VERY rarely caught in the wild at that size.
More likely to be an Endlicheri at that size.

x2 Smallest size I've seen is WC at 7". Haven't seen a CB Congicus yet but I know they are out there.

Endli stripes are darker while congicus has faded thin stripes like a weeksi.

I don't agree with faded and dark stripes. It just depends on the individual fish and it's environment.
