I already posted this in the reptile area I just wanted more people to answer

Since I am going to start a kohaku swordtails breeding project in my 15 gallon grow out with my 2 African Buttlerfly fish whch I don't want in their with my kohaku swordtails I am planning to move in to my other 50 gallon tank with other species of polyterus which post no threat to my African butterfly fish aside form my troublesome endlicheri

Can I mix a 3.5" Fly river Turtle with a 7'' endlicheri.

The tank is 50 gal

It can be done but in the long run the endli is doom. I have seen many people kept an 6"-12"+ FRT with aros, dats, stingrays and bichirs but FRT will grow really big and that's when the problem start. If they don't get enough food they will turn to the most lay back fish in the tank and start on that till it goes to the next one.

would work for a while

If you have valuable fish, I wouldn't mix the turt in at all. I had to relocate my FRT tanks. I put my FRTs into a few 450s with fish. Moved their tanks, refilled them. And, left them to temp adjust overnight. By next morning, one of my AULs was dead. It had a pie slice-shaped wedge missing from it's back. My 5" small male FRT decided on a quick snack and I'm now down 1 AUL. And, this happened after an evening feeding of Ken's sinking sticks and chopped earthworms. So, he couldn't have been all that hungry. Not worth the risk (IMO).

I have FRT with enli and tigs and rays. so far so good. just keep him feed real well. I try to feed it only pellets and no shrimp cause once it ate shrimp it would bite my fish.

Please define a while! 1 week? 1 day? 1 hour? 5 minutes?

so how long can I keep them together???

If you're lucky, you find your endli still alive by the next morning, with some fin/tail nip. You could find a headless endli by next morning, if you're not so lucky

long term turtles and fish just do not mix well sorry-Anne
