my endlis are around 11" atm, how long will it take till they reach 18" ?
it seems that there is little grow I see atm. I have 3 of them in a 120 galls tanks, also I feed them twice a day. How often do you feed yours?
cheers
As we been saying this many many many many many many... times. Bichir growth rate depends on the owner, regular water change, high protein foods, tank size and the genetics of the bichir itself.
Some endli get to 18" in just a year from 4". Some will take 2-3 years or more start from 4".
took me nearly 10 months to get my CB endli from 3"-14" and i feed my bichir group like 40-50 pellets per feeding+like many other food like lots of mealworm and i do 50% waterchange every 1-2 week

thanks, back here, we dont have hikari, only takari, lol, sounds cheap, but I live in indo, so is hard to find those stuff, so far I feed them floating pellets, shrimps, and fillets. The only sinking pellets we have is mainly for shrimp. I could use those, but whenever by bichirs didnt finish those sinking pellets, it clouds the water, so I rarely use those.
cheers
Since you're in Indo, try feeding them with frogs, baby snakeheads, weather loaches or other frozen food you'll find in a fish market. They can make you're bichir grow faster and bulkier than feeding them with pellets which will you be needing a lot, make you're water smell and cloudy and you will be spending a lot if money too.
I have lots of fish and before I have to spend $300+ on hikari pellets every month. Now that I stop feeding them with pellets and goes for any frozen foods available in the market, I now spend $50-$60 every month. Makes my fish grow faster as well and water is always crystal clear with no bad smell.
Since i put my two endlis in the big tank with the 3 ornates, because when i feed the dat massivore in the corner my big endli is the only one which seems to notice this so gets a lot more massivore than the others and you can tell,
And just incase anybody from the uk reads this such as always4lora,try vetuk.com,i found it recently and the 380g bags which are normally £25,these sell at £16.60.
