I've heard that the endlicheri endlicheri is very inactive, just sits there all day, how about the congicus? Is that much the same?

I think they look super cool, very dinosaur-esque, but I'll pass it up if it's very inactive.

GeneralActivity levels
From Most active to Least active:
These tend to be more active during ''lights on''periods and all are about the same activity level however
a list is a list and needs a starting point
P. senegalus
P. palmas polli
P. delhezi
P. palmas palmas
P. palmas buettikoferi
P. retropinnis
These tend to be more active during''lights off'' period
P. e. congicus
P. e. endlicheri
P. Zaire green
P. weeksii
P. lapradei
P. ornatipinnis
there are exceptions as each does tend to have their own''personality''

I found my Endies to be quite active really, shame my apurensis found them to be quite tasty too

I notice that the species active during light on prefer to chill/rest under cover, while the more active at night don't mind to hang out in the open. My endis bask in the open and one is actually quite active in the day (probably more at night), more active than my upper jaw guys. Like Anne said, they vary a lot.

Bichirs for the most part, relative to fish in general are as active as a piece of poop sitting on the lawn

thanks for the info.

I'm asking because I'd like quite an active bichir. My senegal is active, my delhezi is occasionally active but hides most of the time, and my weeksii is beautiful but very inactive. Always hides. I have to put food into their cave for the weeksii to eat.

I think the weeksii has one of the cutest faces of all bichirs, it's a shame he's not more active.

my endi is only active when it is hungry.. :D

lapradei is active when it got spooked..
