i got a endlicheri polypterus two days back and he was much skinnier that the ones i usually saw in the LFS. when i got it home i realised that its stomach was actually quite sunken inwards and his head was bigger than his body. i fed him post-quarantined guppies and goldfishes but i am unsure if he is eating as he shares the tank with a spotted gar with a healthy appetite. i saw him eyeing a goldfish and pursuiing it reaaaally slowly and was obviously unable to catch it.
could it be that he is eating at night only when the lights are out? it is difficult for me to measure if he is eating or not as it might have been eaten by the gar.
is the sunken stomach life-threatening? :\
