Here is an almost one month update on my P. endlivheri...Growing and eating, pretty much anything I give it...Massivores, worms, BW's and talapia(tore it up!).
Looking good! The External Gills will disappear over a matter of time. Some lose them as early as 4" and I think some members have had their Endlis keep them until they were 7"
one thing to note is if u are keen on keeping the external gills of ur bichir for as long as possible, a tank which is highly aerated and with veyr pristine water condition is needed
Well I do meet this criteria, 2 fish (one was *just* added today)and a crab in a 29G multiple HOB filters and lots of air from a bubble stone on the 3PSI air compressor tank system... Hoping to keep them as long as possible!
-very JDM! lol
Thanks for all the kind words, but I just feed and water change.
External gills are the coolest feature of a juvenile bichir. I hope mine last until 8".
My ornate and delhezi started shrinking theirs at 7" and takes them until 10-12" to completely lose them.
