So whats the difference? Volta? Chad? guiana aff.? I have four Chad endys, 14", that have dark striping and a small unknown local endy that doesn't have the dark stripes. Then the place I got my Chads from had some small 6" Volta that also didn't have the dark stripes at all. Plus the Chad have stripes going under their bellys whereas the Volta did not. What is the deal with these corn nuts?

You sorta answered your own question. Its just variants because they habituate different areas. Same fish, just different patterns
Is there any diffinitive discription? How much does age play into it? I was able to glance through the Aqualog book on bichirs and I didn't see a detailed discription of any of the species or locals just pictures. I assumed that locals would just mean pattern differences, so I guess my question is, are there defintions of local differences?
