Forgot how cool these guys can look - check out the insane patterns on my normal plecostomus! He's about 16" in my 180 gallon now and his labyrinth pattern rivals some of my cichlids.

Very cool! Here, sailfins (gibbiceps) take the space of commons in the US (cheap and big), and they look very nice, too. No need to pay hundreds for a fancy pleco

Same here! Just never got into all the fancies and the L series stuff. Got a couple royals in my smaller tank but really I don't find them overly fantastic.
Yeah I use to have expensive L numbered plecs. The bristlenose and commons are what I keep now and just as cool at a fraction of the price.
