That Place With the Stuff
Sorry I dont have time to search through the thread to find out what illness he may have, but his eyes are all cloudy and he has a bright red belly, he is about 18'' and thrashes around when trying to grab air occasionally, will try to post pics later but it looks bad and wondering what to do.... I dont wanna euthanize the fish but will do it if he doesnt have a chance.... any advice??

oh and I have been tking care of bichirs for a couple years now and have never lost one just to eliminate the obvious such as ph, salt and what not solutions

Water changes will most likely clear up his eyes, what type of substrate are you using? that could be irritating his belly. And I'm not to sure about the "thrashing", whenever one of my Bichirs come up for air they generally splash water everywhere.

Cloudy eye + red belly + breathing problem = ammonia + bacteria = poor water = water change.

idk did a water change last week and twice tonight.... hopefully will be ok

What are your water parameters?

why would u do two water changes at night anyway ur waters no good what size tank and what filter u running how many fish u got in their

the bright red belly would be an indication of septicemia. If it were me, i would start adding salt and antibiotics and hope for the best.
