just finished setting up my sump and took some pictures. I think i have enough bio media i am hoping by doing it this way I will get some denitrification. The tank is 600 gallon with about 110 cichlids in it right now. Probably going to stop around 150.

so far I have
6 Marine pure 8x8x4 blocks
2 brightwell 8x8x1 blocks
2 brightwell Bricks
1 gallon of Seachem Denitrate
5 KG of biohome media Various sizes
1 gallon Marine pure spheres
Dont know if this counts because itbis freashwater but I also have 400+pounds of dry rock and 400+ pounds of sand in the DT.

I also have some water lettuce coming in and I am going to set that up in the sump. My well water is about 5ppm for nitrates

The tank looks great T Tj203 the only way of knowing is by testing for ammonia, I'm gonna say that with all that live rock in the display, That you probably could get away with just filter floss in that sump.

I was thinking the same thing honestly. Socks, floss, maybe some plants in a refugiumesk setup.

Well it is a little early to tell but it looks like after I added another 3 blocks.( I had 3 put 3 more in) but it looks like it is working as a denitrification because my tap is around 5ppm and I have my Continuous drip system off and my tank nitrate readings are going down. From about 30ppm to maybe 10ppm or lower and that is with over 100 fish and i am feeding 4 times a day and not lightly i want them to grow and also i want them well fed Because I think that helps curb aggression when they know they don't have to fight for resources. But this looks very promising. I also am going to use a water lettuce refugium in the sump. The more I can cut down on water change the better, and before someone tells me that water changes do more then just remove nitrates i dose cichlid trace minerals in the water

Yes, and with a drip you are already adding back.
