Hey guys
i have a overstocked 200 as you know :)
upgrading to a 600 soon.
But as of now im wondering if my filtration is cutting it?
im running 2 fx5s and a eheim 2075
stocklist includes
16 inch blood red arowana
26 inch black arowana
15 inch royal pleco
5 inch tigrinus
cichla azul 16 inches
cichla orino 16 inches
20 inch CK
8 inch Umbie
15 inch Jaguar
6 inch cichlasoma ornatum

water changes are once a week at 50 %

What are your nitrates? I can't imagine that your water change routing is enough.

The filters will help pick up the poop and will house lots of bacteria, but with a bioload like that..... your nitrates must be sky high.

I think I would be doing 75% water changes once a week AND a 50% change once a week.

nitrites are 0, ammonia 0, nitrates 20 ppm
alright ill do 50% twice a week
thanks guys

50% a week should be fine. If 50% a week is not fine, you need to put your fish in a bigger tank.
i agree bro
600 is coming this year

I think the filtration you have is adequate, the new tank is what you need to concentrate on saving for.

If your nitrates are OK you are doing all you can until the big tank is ready.

Got any pics of your fishies?

i would agree that you can only do so much of a good job in the 200 and judging by your params your doing that, maybe more frequent water changes would aid you but all in all id say your doing a wicked job considering the beasts you have, in terms of water change as your doing alot of water how do you do it? do you use dechlorinator? if you do doesnt it cost a fortune? and out of curiosity what are the dimensions of a 600? you rarely get those sort of beasts here in england

the 600 will be 96*48*32
i use seachem price
it does cost a fortune but anything for the fish
fyi its a 650 gallon i just doubled checked the aquarium calculator but according to the manufacturer its a 600
