Enough Filtration?

55 Gallon tank with:
Aquaclear 500
Whisper 350

I am looking into a canister filter. Do you think this would be a good idea or am I fine already.

you should be good actually but over filtration doesnt hurt

Buying a cannister, unless you plan on overstocking the tank, would be a waste of money. You already have sufficient filtration for a 55g.

I would say you are all set unless you are going to set a complex system. If you are doing just a basic freshwater tank than you will be all set with the filters you listed.
