ok right now my 55 gallon is stocked with a 9inch texas cichlid with two plecos.everybody knos how much waste plecos can produce lol,but my question is with 1 aquaclear 200 and a emp 280 do i have enought filtration,to keep water clean enough between water changes which i do every two week.(50 percent).I also have a penguin powerhead ,and bubble disk for water movment.:)

should be good. as long as your turning water 2x the tank....IMO.

You tell me. Is the water clean? Does it stay clean?

You have 580 GPH with those 2 filters, which is 10x. Thats probably enough, although upgrading one to an Emp 400 or something similar would be nice.

That's what test kits are for. Make sure you have the following parameters right before each water change:

Ammonia: 0 ppm
Nitrites: 0 ppm
Nitrates: no more than 20 ppm

heres how clear my tank is

clear water doesn't mean its clean... just means your filtering is adiquate.

exactly, mechanical filtration to be exact

you really need to look at water parameters to find out if your filtration is enough
