Enquiry regarding arowana farm/exporter in USA

Hello friends,
I stay in India, and I have found a new contact of an arowana exporter in USA named Universal Fishpond from Quickr.com. They have sent me the price list of their arowanas and they are way too cheap. For example, Chilli red arowana baby at 300$ with all certs. They said they will be getting their aro's from Jeff_fishpond (NC,USA). Any users from USA knows anything about them? any information will be greatly helpful. Thanks in advance.
 
there should be no Asian arowana exporter in US, only scams! you are in India, go buy from other SE Asia countries like Malaysia, Indonesia,...
 
hi Mridul.. as far as i know.. there is a big confusion about asian aros in india.. i think it is illegal though your lfs might give you certificates and all.. they are mostly smuggled into the country or ignorant customs officials just let it slip.. ya your query seems to be a scam.. so best avoid..

Hi mridul where r u based? there are some asian aros sold in mumbai if u r close by... but they are very expensive... like this one here was at 1.5lks... it was around 10"-12"....

Thank you so much friends for all those clarifications. BTW i went through the net to get some ideas about fish farms in USA. I found out that even import/export of asian arowanas in USA is illegal. So that leads to only one point that it is surely a "hoax".

As far as I know, as stated by CITES import/export of asian arowanas are legal provided the fishes carry captivity breeding certificates as well as permit. It is only completely banned in USA. Though it is true that a lot of arowanas are do exported/imported illegally without certificate, and are sold in a much cheaper rate.
