I recently purchased a fish known as the "needlefish" which is a relative of the halfbeak, and from the information I've been gathering, it will usually only accept live foods. I have quite a few other monsters that would probably enjoy the live foods as well. What is the best food to go with? I am considering insects/feeder fish/ ghost shrimp, pinky mice.

I have

Needlefish
Black Ghost Knife
Senegal Bichir
Datnoid
a big synodontis
A pair of Angelfish.
A few large Boesemani Rainbowfish

I also have some discus, a jurupari, another geophagus, and some spiny peacock eels in there, but I may move them to another tank if I end up using live feeder fish.

I had to look up needle fish, but i have to say it looks really sweet... is it a S/W fish or Fresh? since on google they looked like they could be salties?

Ghost shrimp and insects are the best bet. Feeder fish introduce parasites and mammalian meat is very bad for fish.

They can be pellet trained. I soak my NLS pellets to soften them before I feed, and my needle snatches 'em right up.
