Hey guys, so within the next month my 55g stock (10 fish: 6 cichlids, 4 catfish) will be moving to my new place and be upgraded into a 90g. The 90 is currently empty and being cleaned/prep'd ,here's my dilemma, the 2 HOB filters that are currently on my 55 I am planning on using in the 90g. What are the ideal steps in making this transition with the fishes safety as the priority? Any comments/concerns are welcome. Thanks guys!!:headbang2

Moving deco as well as some substrate (bagged or not) would be great to add to this move and will bring along plenty of bb. Removing the filter contents and putting them in tank water (the same goes for deco and sub) will be crucial to the transfer; so that all of the bacterial colonies will survive. Now you are loving up from a 55 to a 90 so there is a chance you'll go through a mini cycle but hopefully not.

I'd say just keep your eyes on the parameters and be ready to perform a few extra water changes.

You could also just put one of your hobs on the 90 for a day or so with the old deco and substrate... Your fish will be fine with just one filter for a couple days, I don't foresee any problems with this...
