epoxy/ spray on liner

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I use a lot of spray on bed liner for covering speaker cabnets and judging from all of the warnings on the cans I wouldn't trust it. Your talking about a fairly toxic compound designed for a differant application.

Wolf3101..re-read his post, not truck bed liners (which does work by the way)

andy123, It takes a lot of ground prep and a low water table.

5 sec. set time... not for the faint of heart.

oops I missed his link and made an assumption about the material he was talking about. We are obviously talking about two differant compounds here.

The liner I use for speaker cabnets has a speciffic warning against using it as a sealant in any potable water container. To me this would rule out fish use...I know if you have a liquid bed liner on your truck and have a small amount of standing water in it for any length of time the water will begin to smell like the liner compound.

If it's got that kind of warning, your right. (are you labeling your speaker boxes so no one licks them?) :j/k:

The stuff I used (back a few years now), once cured never caused a problem.

LOL I don't think anyones going to get close enough to them to lick them....

Must not be for hard rock music then

Sorry for the de-rail andy123 :(

Ok I know people on here have built a bunch of tanks. has anyone thought of the spray on liner stuff for the ponds... I think it's new not really sure if it will even work.. just your thoughts on this one... here 's a link of what I'm kind of talking about...

http://www.elastomer.com/polymer/bulletins/pond001.html

I was thinking of using something like that on a fiberglass tub for an indoor pond.

the only reason why I brought this up, was I was talking to my friend up north, and he said that a guy at his local lfs was talking about it.. he said that people don't really want the plastic tubes anymore because there not deep enough in the winter, up there they have to bring the fish in doors... from what this guy was saying. they can just dig a big hole anyway you want it, come there and spray it on.. from what he said, (not sure what kind he was using) you just spray it right in the dirt, with like a 6-12 over lap on the top of the dirt... and some are even add wood around the top edge to raise it up out of the ground a bit.. I was just curious if anyone here on the forum heard of this, or if they used a product like this on their own pond...

it sounds really simple , and if it will stick to the dirt I think it would stick to the wood.. then sand and put you glass in.. sounds to good to be true though...

Sounds like you should try it and let the rest of us see how it works for you! I wouldn't trust it. In ground pools work best!
