OK my lvls for my 55g are all in the good...but at the LFS I over heard the main fish guy telling a customer to add about half a cup of Epsom salt to the tank about every 3 months its has a lot to do with their scales and growth...I've never done this and am curious if this is something I should consider for my tank please let me know if this is a good thing to do...What are the advantages of this...and how much and at what interval should I do this

Epsom salt is usually added to aquariums to treat fish with swim bladded disease, bloat, or dropsy. It is also used to increase the hardness of water for african cichlid tanks. The magnesium in epsom salts is also beneficial to the growth of aquarium plants.
