What equiptment do i need to transport fish. I will be putting them in a 5 gallon bucket (separately of course). And where can i get a air bubbler and what can i do for heat.

The car ride is hour to hour and a half. What should i do/get?

THANKS!

I went to the fishing section at walmart and bought a bubbler for bait fish, I made a 2 hour journey. I did not loose a fish. As for heat depends on the type of fish you have, they might make it the trip as long as it does not get too cold.

Don't really need air bubble nor a heater. It's only a hour to a hour in a half drive. I would see the need for the extra equipment if your driving more then three hours, but I see no need for them. If you are more conferable using it, then get a power converter from best buy or radio shack for your car.

Air bubbler shouldn't be needed, since water surface to volume ratio is pretty high. Heater wouldn't be needed if the inside temp of car is above 60.

If you want a bubbler, you can get a bait bubbler or an Emergency Bubbler (Battery operated) from Petsmart/Petco (mine cost $18)

If possible, have the "new" tank at your destination setup prior to arriving, to minimize stress on fish.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!! :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

i never move a fish w/o an air pump, unless its 30min or less. forget those battery operated pumps. get the black n decker power invertor from walmart, its about $19 and hook up an standard airp pump to it

i will transporting an african arrowana. would it be okay its about 5 inches. What do u all think?

It will be fine. Don't freeze it with the AC or boil it with the heat. An air bubbler wouldn't hurt but you don't need one.

I've moved my full grown oscars 14hours in buckets with no air.but as cheap as the bait bubblers at walmart or bait shop, why not get one?15$ n then you'll have piece of mind n back-up air if power goes out at the house in the future.if your comfortable in your ride your fish should be fine. If you blast the air wrap a blanket around the bucket.

yeah arowanas are pretty hardy and its small enough that it can still turn around

heating shouldnt be an issue and if its cold outside just heat the inside of your car
