In Yo Mind
I came back from a week long vacation and my male texas has been bashed? i think. I dont know which fish did this since he was the biggest male. Did he get an infection? could i get everyone's input thanks :) i dont think his going to pull through.

looks like some lip-locking gone too far. Does he like it rough? sorry, couldn't resist. Is he eating? So long as he eats and behaves normally he should recover. I have a large firemouth that shows up like this periodically. He has serious Napoleon complex and bullies the bigger fish. Once in a while they get fed up and chomp on his face. Hope he heals up quick.

i think his doomed, not eating at all. His upper lip has a hole in it i just saw it just then you can see the inside. But thing is what fish did it? his the biggest american, the only one i can think of is the cuban but his half the size. The others are parrots and 3 king kongs but as you know their mouths are much retarted lol. Ummmm i got one flower horn but his always been hiding around and it seems as though everyone is 100% fine except this guy :( pitty i had him for ages. The price you pay for leaving you fish unattended for a week.

Dude so sorry to hear it, sounds like you're pretty upset. I would be too. How long has he been like this, any idea? He's a big fish, can go for quite a while without eating. Pour in some melafix and stress coat. He may surprise you. Don't give up on him just yet. As for who did it, you would know best. I don't have any experience with flowerhorns but I understand they can be rather nasty. if yours is usually hiding, he may have staked a serious claim on his favorite spot. The TX maybe was pushing the limits? Don't know. Don't give up. Give him a few days rest, maybe even a hospital tank if you are able. In a few days try some blood worms or something else he will have a difficult time resisting. Chin up.

kick the temp up and put some salt in. I have seen fish come back from worse. It may take him some days to eat again but dont panic and just be patient and wait on the wounds to heal. Im telling you, heat and salt ;)

Definitely the Cuban, they're every bit as aggressive as a Texas. My 6" Texas got most of his gill chomped off 2 wks ago by my Flowerhorn but it's already healed up just fine. It looked bad at 1st, like a huge hole through his side. Your Texas may be ok if he can be left alone to heal.

Thanks guys :) i think him for a year and a bit, got him as a fry so its hard to let him go like this. Yeah could be the cuban his been trying to breed with every female in the tank at the moment haha. I first thought it was the arrowana but he leaves all the fish alone.

I let you know in a week if his ok or not :D

There is a possibility that this was not caused by another fish at all. If it was you'd notice torn fins and missing scales. You said there was a hole. Is there any white pussy stuff inside. It looks to me like there is something protruding from inside the fish's head. His entire face is swollen. I would quarantine this fish and treat with HITH medication and salt.

I would at least separate from the other fish, as any further aggression will stress it out
