Hi'

There i was looking at buying a Ery Ery wolf fish from wildwoods, i just wondering how they do with some tank mates.

I have 2 tanks , ones a 40G 4ft long with 7 Channa Orientalis in it and the other one is a 4x2x2 with the following in it : Sorubim Lima, Royal Panaque , 1 Wild Oscar, 1 Ornate Bichir , 1 Weeksii Bichir and 1 Senegal Bichir.

I'd imagine the 40g is out of the question as the snakeheads would probs get eaten or the other way round.

Not sure on the big tank though, will the tank mates get attacked?

Cheers Ben

Wildwoods is a great shop. I am there every weekend and all the fish in my signature have come from there. I saw the ery's this weekend, they look in very good condition.

I would not put it with the Snakehead. It could go either way really. I had won almost killed when I added it into a 50G with a Gachua.

It will probably work in the 4. They usually only go for fish they can swallow or simalar fish like other Ery.

the only thing i would add is that Ery's will rest on the bottom and, depending on the size of your Bichir's, could end up as a snack. The Ery's Wildwoods generally get in are usually between 3" and 5" so as long as your Bichirs aren't too much bigger you'll probably be ok. I know my Ornate is certainly big enough to chomp on a small Wolf!

That said, they are very aware of their surroundings so there is always a chance that the Bichirs won't get close enough before the Wolf moves away. All other tank mates should be absolutely fine.

Ahh cool thats good, my Ornate is only around 3-4 inch , my senegal is about 6inch and my weeksii is around 13inch , the weeksii bichir doesnt bother anything.

I'll wait until im next one a shift at work so i'll be in and get one i think , they look really good, a guy called keith at wildwoods took some pictures of it for me and it does look good:)
