I ask my LFS if they could get me a red wolf fish but they said they don't have any except for the one above. Can someone tell me how they compare to the red wolf in terms of size, care, etc

the species erthrinus does mean red wolf fish. In fact, erythrinus means "red" in latin. You are in the right path. Not sure about the subspecies though. I'm interested to know.

Im pretty sure this is just a name some places call the red wolves. I was looking into info on my species and I stumbled upon these but they just seem to be normal ery ery relabeled. It also seems to be called orange bellied wolves someplaces.

Madre de Dios is a place in Peru; they're probably named after the collection point. I'm not sure if this will be a normal Sp. Peru., or a different subspecies altogether. If you get it, make sure to post some pics.
