I bought 3 little red crabs on a whim (i usually stick with stuff to put in with the arrowana, stingray, everybody) but they're so neat I had to have them too. I put them in my feeder-fish tank and they've been living with the dinners-to-be quite peacefully. Problem is they like to climb up the heater cord, and sneak their way around top. After a few times of coming home to find them roaming around out side the tank (they dont go too far) I've taken the heater out. Its summer so the temp is probably ok, but what could I do in the cooler months? Could they climb the airline tubing too? The wire lid is like a gymnasium for them, and they found a way to squeeze under that too. Should I put them in their own little habitat? If so what sort of set up do they prefer?.... they're mischeivious, but so damn cute, I don't want to lose them...
