Woke up this morning to see most of his scales stripped and fins gone,..
Don't know if my Trimac or Xiloaensis did this, but he would not make it,
so my 9''rbp got the rest of that big$ fish. Sad, kinda bummed about it
because he was coloring up very nice and added a good 1/2'' in size,...

Trial n error i guess, after a night of slow death, my rbp made the morning
quick,..2 bites, gone, i actually heard the first bite as his tank is right behind
me,..i have a pic, but it 's poor, who needs to see another dead fish anyway:(

Better preparation and planning would have been more effective than trial and error. Plenty of cover and more evenly matched fish sizes (presuming your other fish are larger, which would be a fair assumption given the information given about the condition of the fish) may have helped.

Poor thing.

sorry for the loss of your fish...in fishkeeping it is important that you learn from mistakes and everything is an opportunity to learn

sorry for your loss......

if you get a smaller fish you better have a grow out tank or plenty of places to hide in a huge tank.

All these fish were the same size ! At roughly 3.5''s only. Assume
nothing, right! There are plenty of hiding spots with 2 large pieces of driftwood and planted,..i don't know why it happened but better planning would have involved WHAT? Kinda p.o'd over the hole thing,..thanxs for the kind remarks Angelo, Oscarcrazy.
Guess Cichlids are similar to Piranha in that the weakest go's first,...

Sounds like you just wanted a pitty party. Don't get mad when people suggest that you do a better job at fishkeeping.
