One of the Escondido cichlids I purchased from a member here was moved to my 150 where a Texas Cichlid has been living for years. Thought they were both males. Nope! Here are the pix. They are really pissed off and wearing the colors to prove it. Both are very blue and cool looking when not in spawn. Now their bellies are pitch black. Thanx to the guy that bred the Escondido's. I still have 2 and they are very nice specimens.

That is one fosh that I would not allow to breed because of the close characteristics. Those fry would be feeders

I currently have a 150 gallon tank with Esconditos, and Texas Cichlids.. I have a breeding pair of Texas Cichlids, but nothing with the Esconditos yet. I'm hoping they pair up soon. Only had mine for about 5 months, and they are already bigger than my palm!
