My male Esco is pairing up with my female devil. I know if you put tex and devil together you get red Texas but what do you think the offspring will look like with these two?

you will prob get lots of diff variations color wise but deff a nice fish will come out of it maybe something pretty close to a red texas

Here is my pair. Male is Her. Cyna. Female looks devil. Pair is for sale on aquabid.com.

you will get mostly unfaded rt. red texas generally are parrot and not labiatus

the nicest rt I saw was Texas X red slayer. I'll post pics later today of that rt and my pair.

Pretty sure there is no fish called red slayer. Not trying to be rude or offend anyone, But if you google red slayer cichlid it takes you to a thread where some idiot is trying to say that he breeds "red carpintis" and that they are different from SRT and that they are related to their ancestors lol. He says that SRT are flowerhorn and that these are not FH. If you look at the picture you can clearly see it is a SRT. He says he gets his red carpintis from breeding with a red slayer cichlid which is most obviously a blood parrot. SRT or red carpintis are all the same. It is either a carpintis with a blood parrot-most common, or a cyano texas with a BP or red devil. I have heard of successfull attemps with Red Devils as well but for the most part it is almost always Carpintis X BP. They are not flowerhorn. By the way great looking fish. Love your texas and it's offspring. Hopefully you can get some good looking fish for line breeding. I would say that the offspring you showed here is a great choice to rebreed with the parents. Good luck man.

so not to argue or anything but this is a pic of what someone was calling a red slayer which was a cross between "red devil and synspillum" and he bred this with a texas to make SRT. I am definately no genius when it comes to crossin. so feel free to lead me in the right direction. I have also posted a pic of my escondido and red devil "labiatus".

Nope makes perfect sense, BP are supposedly Synspilum and Midas so RD instead would essentially yield the same result. Redslayer(Syn X RD) = Nearly same genes as BP only without parrot shape. Or KKP as most call it. King Kong Parrot (Blood parrot without parrot face)

From what I have understood the rose queen is a cross between a Synspillum and a red devil/midas, bassically looks like a faded Syn, you can't just cross a midas and Syn and get parrots the Syn has to carry a certain gene.
