Eshopps Overflow box and hose

I just got my eshopps overflow box and a flexible hose. I was hoping that the eshopps flexible hose would fit over the bulkhead, but I just found out that it just slips in instead. I am feeling a bit nervous with how the hose is secured to the bulkhead. Since I can not use a clamp to tighten the hose to the bulkhead, is there any way to tighten the hose? For example, would putting silicone over the end of the hose and slipping it in to the bulkhead be a good way that makes this connection leak free and from falling off?

If any one that has used flexible hosing for their overflow box, please share some of your experiences with it. Where there any problems you had?

I used a piece of pvc and a barb fitting to attach the hose. That way you can use a hose clamp to hold the hose on.

I used it as provided for over a year w/o problems.
