i have an established pair of severums in my 55g. they breed once or twice a month. i've been debating on weather i should put them in my 125g and make the 55g a planted tank. the would be in with a male rotkeil, sveni pike, psittacus, jurupari, a fei feng, 2 polys and a small dat. i really dont want them to breed in the 125g or cause any problems between my existing pair and the new rotkeil. has anyone moved a breeding pair into a community type tank?

the other fish being present may cause the pair to stop breeding , and if the eggs keep being eaten they may stop trying to breed , while this will slowly break the pair appart reducing their aggression , but thats alot of maybes....

It could also cause them to bond better, which is good for the pair. But what they'll do to your other fish is another story.

Incidentally, what are you putting in the 55g then?

ive been drawn to grammodes recently :D it'd be cool to have one as a wetpet in my room. i may just get a 75g for the pair and then have the 55g free, idk. just tossing some ideas around

Sean, get rid of the current pair and find a mate for the new Sev you got. He/she is a beauty!!! :D

Goodluck if you go planted!!!!! Too much time and $$$ for me.
