i'm selling one of my fx5's that is currently hooked up to my tank with jardini inside. it's full of bio media in all trays but the very top and very bottom tray has those blue polishing pads. the bio im using is the nano balls. asking 225.00 pick up only because it's still running and wanna keep the bb alive for next owner.

i might be wrong.
but the beneficial bacteria colony will die if you use new water.
it has to be the same water that the filter was running on.

water from my tank, that it's running on currently, will be in the filter when someone buys it. as far as i know the bacteria will die only if made contact with fresh tap water that still has chlorine in it. you could always change the water that has been treated or aged. i could be wrong, someone correct me if i am. anyways does anyone wanna buy?

The BB will die if its got nothing to feed off, not sure how long they can live without food thou...

Well if it's still running on my tank and disconnected when person would pick up would the BB still be alive due to waste already present in tank water and or filter media?
