Have seen some of those do-it-yourself glass etching kits that use weak acid etching solution, and also seen some of the ones that use blasting media to etch...

Would either of these significantly weaken the glass on a smaller aquarium? (29, 40 breeder, something like that)
Thought it might be a cool way to do a logo, initials, or something like that to kind of "personalize" the tank.

Anyone tried it?

I did a glass table, it was 6ftx3ft did a big rose in the glass it looked great (till a vase fell thru it when me and my daughter were playing foot ball in the living room) well anyway I used the sand one, used scotch tape and covered the whole table then drew my pattern then used a knife to cut out what I wanted etched... It didn't dig deep more like a scratch so I don't think it will make that big a deal on the tank it will look sweet

That's kind of what I thought, you mask an area, cut your design, then dab on the etching solution or use the mini-blaster, and presto! Personalized tank.

I didn't figure it would be deep enough either way to compromise the glass, just wanted some first hand knowledge from someone who's done it...

No idea what design I'd do, have several nautical type idea... or if I got really crazy and detailed, an old nautical woodcut style...
