Etroplus canarensis / Canara Pearlspot Spawning

Although my Canara Pearlspots have spawned many times, this is the first time that I actually have caught them in the spawning act ... a beautiful sight.

Not at all. Jose Gonzales in San Antonio is the breeder. Dave Schumacher who is also in San Antonio offers them for sale. Here's the link:

Oops. He doesn't seem to have them right now. You might want to PM Jose directly to see if he has any available. He is 'ciclasoman' on this forum.

Thanks! Wetspot has then right now for $20 each, and I am ordering from them, but since my understanding is that you need to get them in groups of at least 8, I was planning waiting and seeing if I could find a group deal on them that wasnt quite so exspensive. But is $20 each a good price though?

Well, they're very rare, and that seems to be the going rate wherever you can find them. Looks like Wetspot is the only one with them right now. Wish there were a way of getting some of mine to you. Where are you in Wisconsin? There is a fellow in Milwaukee (Duane Stuermer AKA duanes on this forum, who received some canarensis from Jose about the same time as me. I don't believe he has spawned his yet. Might be worth a contact to see what's happened with his.

I am in Green Bay. I don't personally know duanes, but I have seen the name around the forum, and he gave me some help on some other rarer fish I am interested in on a different thread. Do yours spawn regularly? Do you ever ship?
