So...still I am curious why an injection of potassium chloride would not be an option....

It's how I would choose to go. Then again I am a human not a fish.

I have yet to have to kill one of my fish but in the event that I need to I would like to know if a solution of potassium chloride would be quick, painless, and effective.

Oh...and OP I am very sorry for your loss.

The fish and game uses PC to eradicate zebra mussels...

I would assume it would work.

I don't think potassium chloride is readily available to anyone, is it? Do you know that it would have the same effect on a fish's system as it does on mammals?

VERY accessible they sell it as a salt substitute at GNC and such...

I am not sure about it's effects on fish that's why I was asking.

i dont think anyone here appreciates your mansplanation. :(

I admitted that I do not know what the effects are and was simply asking questions....

I was not meaning to patronize.

Me saying that it is sold as a salt substitute was simply me responding to Laticuada....

So, I honestly do not understand why anyone would be offended.

sorry i mean nobody here appreciates your mansplaining attitude towards her. :chillpill:

Actually she has given me a lot of really great things to think about during my time here. Though I have only been on this forum for a short time I have developed a healthy internet type of respect for the woman. I was not/have not/have no reason to be condescending to her.

She asked if the chemical was readily available. I can understand why she would ask this as you would think that this would be something you would not want the general public to get there hands on.

I did not know that it was accessible chemical myself until about a year ago when I bought it for personal reasons.

So, when she expressed doubt on availability. I told her where it can be found and what it's practical use is.

I really don't understand the issue here.

I would be more than happy to make an apology if you can explain exactly how I was being rude....

or better yet if SHE is offended by my response.

It's cool. I think it was the second part "that's why I'm asking" which I took as being said in a curious manner, as opposed to a sarcastic/prickish way. Just a simple misunderstanding in the tone. Frequently happens on the intrawebz!

TBH, I had to re-read it over again to see both sides, but it definitely could be seen either way.

I did not mean it as sarcasm it was not intended to be at all but I do severely apologize to you if I gave you off the wrong impression.

Now I feel bad. I knew what you meant when I read it the first time, I was just trying to explain how I believe the other person saw it, and what lead to their response.

I knew what you meant by it, no need to apologize :)

And P.S. if you made me mad, or offended me, you'd know it, lol.

Great, no worries then.
