okay, i know my tank isn't a monster but it's as big as i can go living at home . but i noticed my 55 evaporates like roughly 3-5 gallons of water in a week time frame.to me it just sounds like a lot but i could be just :screwy:

o yea, for got to mention that. but yes i have glass tops, which they fit tightly on sides just not front to back....which i think thats so if you have a HOB filter it clears that since it's only one side that is like that(other side that has my filter on it doesn't have room)

dry house by chance or any dehumidifiers on?? I know some houses have them built in.

I lose water to a dehumidifier, but not that significant of an amount, and im in a basement.

seems a bit high, I don't really measure but if you have gaps in your top, you lose more. my tops are fully covered to prevent escapes. warmer weather you lose more too. buying plastic covers to go on the back of your tops will reduce it.
I wouldn't run a dehumidifier unless your place is uncomfortably humid, drier air will just increase the evaporation.
on the plus side, more fresh water in your tank is a good thing.
