My lemon pleco went missing a while back. I figured one of my fish ate it cuz I couldn't find a body inside or outside of the tank.

Well, I was just sitting down admiring the tank when something moving in the sump caught my eye. I go to investigate and there's my little pleco, hungry, but alive, in my sump.

The messed up part is I just cleaned the filter yesterday! It gets cleaned pretty regularly and I haven't seen this little thing in there.

So I pulled the filter pad out and I'm giving it a good meal (it looks pretty thin), then I'm moving it to a different tank with a filter that it can't swim into.

Poor little thing, but a happy ending ?

Anybody else find their missing fish in random places?

Well, I've had fish jump over the years and cats relocate them, so they end up in some random places around the house. I've also had a crayfish escape overnight from a tank in my bedroom...woke up one morning, opened the bedroom door and walked out only to find a crayfish staring up at me from the middle of my living room floor (still alive, just cruising around).

I've had this happen before too. Mine was from a seafood shop though lol

I randomly found a baby crayfish in the bin I keep my siphon in, found out I had baby crays that way.

Otherwise, I’ve found a firefish and a royal gramma in my filter on two separate occasions. Cave dwellers will always find a way.

When I was 11 I found my blue gourami (about 6") stuck between two paperbacks on my metal bookshelf ❓ He actually survived since I found him in time. I guess he hurled himself out of the tank but how he got pressed in the books is beyond me. The books saved him from drying out. Had to soak him some to get the paper off his slime coat.
