Ever get anything special for free? Tank? Fish?

I once got a free 13in. Fahaka along with a 4in. widebar!

The guy simply wanted his fish to have a good home!

More free fish than I can count over the years. Mostly returned monsters too large for the lfs tanks. A few years ago, I bought a 300gal from someone in Oregon. After packing it into my truck (tank, stand, canopy, filter, gravel, heaters, P-Plants : for $220), the seller gave me an 82 gal bowfront with stand and covers. And, a 110 gal monster wet/dry sump (from a lfs) for free.

had a whole load of black sand given to me by a friend... other than that any money i can get from breeding fish I guess you can consider free lol. Oh and someone gave me an ornate once as it was getting to big for them.

It's only because I got the biggest tank up here-Hobby wise that is...

My LFS's are a joke Sir-

The biggest store up here-Only has a 33 gal as their biggest stocking tanks--
So ne thing that cant be crammed in their to make a buck gets donated to me unfortunately......
They have two display tanks-One is a 180 reef setup-That looks like garbage most of the time-

And a new 270 gal-that one of their employee's stocked to fast and killed a bunch of salt stock....So now it's got one ray at the 7 inch mark in a 270...Goes to say alot about the place.....

the only other store I deal with is the same basically-Largest tank in store would be a 55 gal....

On another nnote-
I have thought about openning up a store and showing these guys how's it doen in this hobby-
But with owning and operateing two of my own stores right now-
I dont have time for that adventure-But most certainly am considerring it in the future...

Sorry for the explanation...

So if one loks at like this-
One can see whay I said nothing special really.......

AK - wow, sounds like you need a real store up there! Those conditions sound crazy and sad! Do you order all your fish throu the internet then?

Exactly why I got over 50 tanks to myself-
I plan on starting one some day-when time permits of course-

Conditions only get worse for me also-
No acess to live plants,No driftwood,Minimal stock and crap at best....
No tanks offered over the 125 gal mark-
If one is lucky-we can find a tall 150 gal.....But better of with the 125-IMO....


My other store would be-
